The following full-time position is open for staffing in our Chapter. These outlined responsibilities do not reflect all duties assigned to this position.

 


Position Title: Major Gifts and Grants Coordinator 

 

Position Location/Department: Chapter Headquarters in New Orleans, Financial Development Department

 

Position Summary:
Supports and enhances annual chapter fundraising activities by placing major emphasis on specific annual fundraising activities including annual board giving, individual major gifts and Tiffany Circle.  Conducts foundation proposal research and grant writing to raise money for the operational budget of the chapter.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the chief development officer creates, modifies and maintains annual campaigns for board giving, major gifts and Tiffany Circle membership.
  • Conducts research to identify available grant funding opportunities.
  • In cooperation with the chief development officer cultivates foundation prospects.
  • Writes grant proposals, ensures they are within specified guidelines, and representative of a variety of funding priorities.
  • Establishes initial contact with major individual donor prospects in order to cultivate relationships and schedule appointments.
  • Conducts prospect research for cultivation and solicitation calls.
  • Prepares proposal packages, solicitation letters, and handwritten letters for prospective and major donors.
  • Tracks prospect notes in Raiser’s Edge and Maintains stewardship files on donors.
  • Performs in “essential staff” capacity for disaster relief work as required. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and minimum of two years experience in fundraising.
  • Must have demonstrated ability in writing and public speaking, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and flexibility in dealing with fast-paced environments.
  • Working knowledge of computers needed with experience in Raiser’s Edge a plus.
  • Experience in statistical analysis preferred.
