Welcome to my blog. Since October 2012, on this blog I’ve been sharing healthy living secrets, edible inspiration from playing in the kitchen, and my deep love of whole foods. Why did you start blogging?
I started this blog because I wanted to share the incredible knowledge I have gained through my education. I discovered so many things that I thought should be publicly available, not just for those who can go to school to learn in this area. I wanted to create a non-judgmental space for people to come and learn about how to take better care of themselves through diet and lifestyle as I have seen huge changes in myself since making small positive changes every day.
What is your educational background?
I am a holistic nutritionist and certified nutrition specialist (CNP). To get this accreditation, I went to the Institute for Holistic Nutrition in Toronto, Canada. IHN is a private college that offers an intensive 1-year full-time or 2-year part-time program based on a university-level curriculum in Ontario and British Columbia, Canada.
I am currently enrolled in the Integrative Nutrition Institute for advanced studies in subjects such as gut health and hormonal health. Their Health Coach program , although not a CNP certified program, is a great place to start your holistic health and wellness journey wherever you are. WHAT IS HOLISTIC NUTRITION?
The best way to define holistic nutrition is a health system based on the integration of the physical, nutritional, environmental, emotional and spiritual components of one’s life. It emphasizes personal responsibility and a collaborative relationship between practitioner and client. Working with both diet and lifestyle, I help people return to a state of healthy balance and well-being.
